Instructor, Shiley School of Engineering

photo of Gregg MeyerGregg Meyer served his apprenticeship at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center fabricating experimental equipment for physicists and engineers from around the globe. After attaining his engineering degrees from Santa Clara University and Georgia Tech, he worked for Hewlett Packard’s enterprise computing business unit designing and manufacturing computer system hardware while developing intellectual property and managing engineering teams. After serving two decades in industry, Gregg transitioned into education to share his passion for technology with the next generation of inventors. Prior to joining UP, he worked at Portland Community College as a mechanical engineering instructor, interim dean of math and industrial technology, and director of the Oregon Manufacturing Innovation Center’s training arm. His area of specialty is additive manufacturing (3-D printing) and creating maker labs of all scales and complexity. When not in the classroom, you can usually find Gregg collaborating with students on projects or tinkering at home in his own digital fabrication studio.
