Lisa Amoruso

Instructor, School of Nursing

photo of Lisa AmorusoLisa Amoruso graduated with an associate’s degree in nursing in 1999. Her first R.N. job was in medical/surgical and oncology at the University of Washington. Since 2001 she has been working in high risk labor and delivery. Lisa received a bachelor of science in nursing from Linfield College and is now working towards a master of science in nursing education. After many years of precepting new graduates, teaching seasoned nurses how to be labor nurses, and seeing nurses she trained go on to be faculty and nurse midwives, Lisa decided to impart some of her knowledge to student nurses. She has already trained several UP graduates in obstetrics, and has found them to be well-prepared and ready to learn. When Lisa is not working in labor and delivery, teaching at UP, or writing papers for her master’s degree, she enjoys spending time with her family, as well as hiking, reading, and spending time with her 21 chickens.
