Welcome!

The United States Army Military Science and Leadership unit of the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) at the University of Portland is a cooperative program between the Army and the University. University of Portland offers free Room and Board for ROTC cadets that are contracted and receive a National ROTC Scholarship, Campus-Based Scholarship or Minuteman Scholarship. It provides the leadership training for students to earn appointments as second lieutenants in the United States Army, Army Reserves, or the National Guard.

Military science classes are elective courses that use a combination of academics and hands-on training to teach leadership, responsibility, and teamwork. First- and second-year courses are open to any University of Portland student and participation in ROTC only requires a few hours a week.
