Hector Mendoza

Campus Minister for Liturgical Music

I was born in Maracay Venezuela, starting at “El Sistema” as percussionist. I participated in the national orchestra Simon Bolivar. I cofounded the “National Net of Venezuelan Music Ensembles”, which inaugurated the first “National Youth Orchestra for Contemporary Venezuelan Music”. I presented my Orchestral Musical Work “Seis por Izquierdo”. I traveled to the University of Vienna and other parts of Europe, to talk about Venezuelan music, and perform with the Venezuelan Music Ensemble “Quintribillo”. I was invited by the University of Florida to talk about Venezuelan music at the time of the Hispanic month. I earned a Bachelor in Classical Music Composition in Caracas Venezuela with the Colombian international composer Blas Emilio Atheortua. I studied Orchestral Conducting, with Enyu Peña from Venezuela, Rudolfh Wudling from Germany, as well as Pablo Castellanos from Venezuela. I founded a child and youth Orchestra program in Forest Grove USA with the Score Music Studio. I worked in different parishes as Liturgical Musician, as accompanist and director working with different cultural communities.
