The One Body Initiative

*Online registration for One Body is now closed. However, you can still sign up for a group by emailing ministry@up.edu!

That there may be no division in the body, but that the parts may have the same concern for one another. If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it; if one part is honored, all the parts share its joy.
- 1 Corinthians 12:25-26

Now more than ever our community needs ways to connect and resources for support. We feel the great call to make our campus ever more welcoming and aware of injustice. We long to be together and experience the joy of connection. Yet we are kept at a distance. Challenges seem to increase with each day. We need one another and we need the support of our faith if we are to make it through this semester.

To this end, Campus Ministry is offering the One Body Initiative to provide the connections and support needed at this time. All UP students are invited into this opportunity to journey together through this semester. The One Body initiative will provide materials for reflection, connection to peers through small groups, and resources for rooting one’s life in prayer. Framing this journey will be a look into the call offered by the Gospels to remove the barriers that hold us back from experiencing God’s love and from loving our neighbor.

Together we will support one another through:

  • Reflection: Weekly reflections drawing on a range of voices which will root our journey in the Gospel call to communion with God and with one another.
  • Connection: Small Groups will provide a welcoming space for conversation and support with your peers. Participants will have input into the makeup of their group.
  • Prayer: Communal prayer opportunities offered regularly throughout the semester as well as resources and support in developing one’s own habit of personal prayer.
