Faculty & Staff

The Career Education Center partners with faculty and staff to integrate career readiness in curricular and co-curricular experiences and to facilitate connections to internships and jobs. Students often seek advice and support from faculty and staff as they navigate choices about majors, internships, graduate study, and careers. As students enter the complex, globally interconnected world of work, they may be overwhelmed by the vast amount of (sometimes conflicting) information. The Career Education Center has a variety of resources and tools to help students make career decisions and transitions successfully. In addition to the tools and resources outlined below, students are always encouraged to schedule an appointment for individual support.

Tools & Resources

  • The UP Career Readiness Guide is a comprehensive resource on career-related topics including the career readiness competencies and career management model.
  • The RATE tool is a digital self-assessment to help students log and describe the value of their career readiness experiences.
  • Through Handshake students can search for internships, part-time and full-time entry-level positions and schedule appointments with Career Education Center staff.
  • StandOut is a mock interview practice tool that has over 3,000 interview questions.
  • Sample Faculty Reference Letter from the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE)

Please complete the Presentation Request Form with at least two weeks advance notice If you would like to have a staff member present in a class.
