AAP Systems Stress Intern at Gulfstream Aerospace Company

Joseph Albright“As the AAP Systems Stress Intern, I helped the advanced aircraft program by certifying new airplane systems and creating a finite element model designed to verify the structural integrity of a classified aircraft component. I’ve learned a lot this summer about stress analysis and the aerospace industry. My favorite part of this internship was giving a report to my team lead and having my report checked, signed off on, and released.  Even as an intern I was able to contribute in a small way to the larger goal of the company.

I applied to a variety of internships, but ultimately my goal is to work in the aerospace industry.  I have always been interested in aerospace and space exploration, and I dream of someday putting something into orbit. Gulfstream is a company that designs and manufactures some of the world’s most advanced aircraft and I wanted to be part of that. I believe internships are important because it allows for a student to feel out and really understand what their next goals should be. Every internship is a unique experience, and the more experiences you have the more prepared you will be for life after UP.”
