Tickets are required for admittance to the Commencement ceremonies on Sunday, May 3.

Graduates can order up to seven (7) tickets for their guests and all seats will be assigned. You are responsible for ordering your tickets for your guests. Only students eligible to walk at Commencement will have access to order tickets.

Ticket Order Dates

  • Tuesday, February 18 by 3:00 p.m.: A unique ticket code and ordering information for Commencement I will be emailed to students.
  • Wednesday, February 19 at 8 a.m.: Ticket ordering begins for Commencement I – College of Arts and Sciences and School of Education.
  • Thursday, February 20 by 3:00 p.m.: A unique ticket code and ordering information for Commencement II will be emailed to students.
  • Friday, February 21 at 8 a.m.: Ticket ordering begins for Commencement II – Pamplin School of Business, Shiley School of Engineering and School of Nursing.
  • Friday, April 3: Deadline for ordering tickets.
  • Friday, April 24: Tickets will be emailed to students to print at home.

Additional Ticket Request

A pop-up will come up during your online order that asks if you would like to be added to the list for additional tickets. If you do not want additional tickets please select “NO”. 

*Requesting additional tickets does not guarantee extra tickets. You will be notified if we are able to fulfill your request. 

Special Accommodations Tickets

Within your seven (7) ticket order limit, we offer special accommodations tickets, please see below for more information about requesting these:

Mobility Tickets via Online Order

  1. Wheelchair-Access tickets – required for a guest who will remain in their wheelchair for the duration of the ceremony.
  2. Limited Mobility tickets – required for a guest who can only walk up a maximum of five (5) stairs to access their seating.
  • When placing your online ticket order, a pop-up will come up that asks you if you need Wheelchair-Access tickets or Limited Mobility tickets. Please enter the quantity of tickets needed.
  • Please request two tickets if you would like the special accommodations guest to have a companion sit with them. Special Accommodation ticketed guests and their companion will not be seated with the rest of your guests.

Communication Access Tickets by Email Request

  1. Communication Access tickets – optional for a deaf or hard of hearing guest whose primary language is ASL and would like to be seated near an ASL interpreter. Please note: The ceremony will be live captioned and shown on the video board in the Chiles Center which is visible for all guests. Guests are welcome to bring their own device to view live stream and captions.
  2. Spanish Language Access tickets optional for a guest whose primary language is Spanish and would like to receive headphones to listen to a live translation of the Commencement ceremony.
  • If you need Communication Access tickets or Spanish Language Access tickets, please email to request these tickets and we will modify your original ticket order to accommodate this request.
