Testing

As announced on October 2, the University has developed a comprehensive COVID-19 testing policy for students during the Spring 2021 Semester. While more details will be provided in the weeks ahead, the testing protocol features the following primary elements:

Baseline Testing

All students residing in on-campus residence halls will be tested upon their arrival for COVID-19 using a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.

Surveillance Testing

Surveillance testing will be used by the University to determine the presence of COVID-19 among asymptomatic on-campus students, as well as to help mitigate outbreaks.

Randomly selected samples of on-campus residents will undergo COVID-19 antigen testing each week. The University will also regularly test residence hall wastewater for indications of COVID-19

Symptomatic Testing

On-campus students who have symptoms associated with COVID-19, who test positive during surveillance testing, or who have been exposed to people who have tested positive for COVID-19 will receive a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test. If necessary based on the outcome of symptomatic testing, students will be instructed to isolate.
