Father Claude Pomerleau, CSC, earned his PhD from the University of Denver in international relations in 1975 and has taught at Notre Dame and in Chile. Since 1991, he has served as an associate professor in the Department of History and Political Science and as department chair from 1994 to 2000. He has long-time interests in peace studies and Latin America and has spent his summers in Chile working as a visiting professor. He is an accomplished clarinet player and can be found regularly performing in the local area as a member of the River City Consort. In the fall of 2008 he began temporary service at a Catholic university in Uganda in East Africa, in support of the Holy Cross community's commitment to higher education in that country. He maintains his permanent residence, however, at Holy Cross Court.
