Your Junior & Senior Family Weekend experience happens November 3-5, 2023! We look forward to having you on campus to enjoy exciting activities with your student and to meet fellow Pilot families!

Take a look below at the schedule from 2022 to get an idea of all the fun you'll have this year!

All guests 18 and over are $50, guests up to 17 years old are $15, and your UP student is free. Your Family Weekend ticket covers all events listed in the schedule below. We are unable to offer refunds after October 30.

2022 Family Weekend Schedule of Events 

Friday, November 4

3:30 - 7:30 pm: Family Weekend Headquarters opens for check-in at the UP Bookstore

4:00  Campus Tours start at the Bookstore

  • Join student leaders in a tour of campus! Last tour starts at 4:15. Self-guided tour information will be available at Family Weekend headquarters, as well.

4:00 - 6:00 Open Houses and Exhibits:

  • Career Education Center (Franz Hall 110) meet the talented Career Education staff and learn how they partner with students to meet career goals and explore opportunities for life after college.

  • Study Abroad photography exhibit (Buckley Center gallery)
    Gratitude, mindfulness, nature-consciousness and justice are at the center of Study Abroad at UP. Explore the world through the images created by UP's Study Abroad participants.

  • Wellness Center (Orrico Hall, lower floor) 
    Meet our Wellness staff and learn about the great work they do for students.

  • Peer Health Educators (Shiley Hall Lobby)
    Meet our student team of health educators and spin their wheel for wellness-related tips and goodies.

  • UP Museum exhibit inside the Clark Library: view photos, historical memorabilia, uniforms and other artifacts from UP's vibrant past century on The Bluff! Feel free to wander the library to get a feel of this dynamic student space until 7pm.

  • Air Force ROTC (Kenna Hall Basement, until 5:00): UP is home to the AFROTC Detachment 695 Pilots. If you have someone in the program or want to hear more about their program, they'd love to meet you!

6:00 - 8:00  Brews on The Bluff (Commons, Quiet Side): 

  • Make memories with fellow Pilot families over dinner and desserts featuring brews from UP alum-owned-or-affiliated brewers of beer, root beer and kombucha.

9:00  Pilots After Dark (Pilot House):

  • Celebration of Diwali, the festival of lights, sponsored by the South Asian Student Union.

Saturday, November 5

8:00 - 11:00 Family Weekend headquarters open for check-in at the UP Bookstore

8:30 - 10:00 Coffee and pastries (Franz Hall Lobby)

  • Pick up some pastries and coffee before heading to the various academic department showcases.

9:00 - 10:15 Academic department showcases

  • School of Nursing Simulation Lab open for visitors. (Buckley Center, 3rd floor)

  • Shiley School of Engineering (Shiley Hall): visit various labs, attend student presentations and learn more about the exciting work they do in Shiley.

  • College of Arts & Sciences (Brian Doyle Auditorium, Dundon-Berchtold Hall 004)
    Learn about the high-impact practices happening in CAS. What kinds of research, internships and study are happening outside the classroom? You'll hear from deans, faculty and student presenters about hands-on learning in CAS.

  • School of Business (The Commons, Board Room): Join faculty and staff for highlights of the P4 (Pamplin Professional Preparation Program), Junior year internship requirements, as well as resources for seniors. Current Seniors and recent alumni will share their experiences and offer advice to current students.

  • School of Education (Franz Hall 120): Students and family members are invited to a student-led and alumni panel focusing on the senior professional year experience, preparation for their first teaching position, post-graduate opportunities and what to expect after graduation. A Q&A session with the dean, associate dean, faculty and staff will follow.

10:30 - noon: PilotTalks & President's Welcome (Buckley Center Auditorium)

  • Be the first to attend UPs new short-talk lecture series on the topic of 'hope', featuring UP faculty and a special President's Welcome from UP's new President, Dr. Robert Kelly.

Lunch on your own

Noon - 3:00: 

  • Visit the UP Museum exhibit in the Clark Library entryway to see what life on campus looked like in years past. Feel free to wander the library until 7pm

1:00  Women's volleyball vs. Gonzaga (Chiles Center)

3:30  Montage Concert (Commons Quiet Side)

  • Sit back and soak up UP jazz, choral, orchestral and wind symphony performances.

5:30  Pre-game social hour (Chiles Center - Pilot Club)

  • Get hyped for the game and socialize with fellow Pilot families over beer, wine, gourmet hot dogs, and specialty Bon Appetit desserts. Use the main Chiles entry doors.

5:30 - 6:30  Watch for the Wellness Center Wagon! (Chiles Center Plaza)

  •  This mobile support wagon will be full of free stress toys, mindfulness prizes and friendly staff.

7:00  Men's soccer match versus Santa Clara (Merlo Field)

9:00  Pilots After Dark (Pilot  House) 

  • Activities, dancing and treats sponsored by the Hawaii Club

Sunday, November 6

10:30  Mass in the Chapel of Christ the Teacher; all are welcome!

10:00 - noon Post-Mass coffee and pastries in the Commons Quiet Side

All Family Weekend events end after Sunday Mass
