Group Work Lab

Make your next Group Project a Success!

Group projects are a central feature of many classes at the University of Portland. They have the potential to help students learn vital skills about collaboration and group dynamics. Yet, when many students hear the words, "group project" they are filled with dread. However, group projects can be an opportunity for individual and collective growth and learning. The labor can be divided up between members and each person can offer a unique perspective on the material.

Our group work consultants (GWCs) are here to help make sure your next group project is a success. By utilizing the Group Work Lab and our peer consultants, you can learn essential strategies of successful teamwork that will help make you an asset to any group project at UP and beyond.

Student groups are highly encouraged to meet with a group project assistant before beginning their project in order to discuss grade expectations, ground rules, and strategies for equitably dividing tasks.
