Jan 11: Required Testing Process for All Undergraduate Students

The following message was sent to the University of Portland undergraduate students on January 4, 2022.

Dear UP Undergraduate Students,

We are excited for you to return to campus and are looking forward to a successful, in-person spring semester together.

We write today to share important details about our required testing plan for all undergraduate students that will take place next week. The plan is meant to help us understand how extensive Covid-19 infections are as students return to campus and the surrounding off-campus community.  This knowledge will help us to begin in-person classes and activities as safely and as quickly as possible.  We ask that you please read this message in its entirety as it contains very important information about the testing plan.

Important Notes:

  • If you feel sick, please do not come to pick up a test, instead please make an appointment with the Health and Counseling Center at 503-943-7134.
  • If you have tested positive in the last 90 days (October 13, 2021 – January 11, 2022), you do not need to test at this point. Instead, please let us know you have recently tested positive
  • All other students will be required to complete a proctored test before the end of the day on Friday, January 14.  There is no charge for the test.  Follow the process outlined below.
