Tyler Hale currently lives and works as the hall director for the Haggerty and Tyson community, in the North Quad. Tyler holds a bachelor's degree from George Fox University in religious studies and a master's degree in religion from Yale University in New Haven, CT. Prior to his employment at the University of Portland, Tyler worked in graduate student life, providing spiritual and multi-religious programming for graduate students at Yale University. Tyler is a firm believer in creating a community that addresses the unique needs of junior and senior college students while also creating opportunities for them to stay healthily engaged with the greater student body. Tyler seeks to develop a "neighborhood feel" in Haggerty and Tyson, in hopes that students who feel more comfortable in apartment-style housing can experience the best of that model while still living on-campus. Tyler's wife, Julie, is a social worker who specializes in residential teen-parenting programs.
