Carmen Herrera
Assistant Hall Director, Mehling Hall

Carmen Herrera was born and raised in the city of Orange, California. She moved to Portland to follow her dream of attending UP's Master of Arts in Higher Education and Student Affairs program. Go Pilots! Carmen received her undergraduate degree from California State University, Fullerton, in Communication, Entertainment and Tourism. She also had the opportunity to study abroad in Florence, Italy. She discovered her passion for working with students when she was a student worker while being involved with the Associated Student Government at Santiago Canyon College.

Carmen is excited to be joining the Mehling Hall sfaff and is looking forward to forging a relationship with the students. She would like for them to know that everyone is on their own journey, and it doesn't matter how long it takes; it is about the journey. She loves flowers, french fries and music, but does not like ice cream. When Carmen isn't working, she loves to hike, bake, play board games, hang out with her best friend and meet new people.
