Fall 2019 New Student Registration

All new students (freshman and transfer students) are registered for classes for their first term by their major school or college. Students are registered for courses that satisfy university core requirements, college requirements, and major requirements, so everyone's schedules will look different depending on your major.

Registration To-Do List and Deadlines

Complete the Registration & Advising Survey (emailed to your UP email address)

If you would like to request disability accommodations at University of Portland, contact Accessible Education Services to discuss requesting accommodations

As soon as possible, best by August 1, 2019. Housing accommodations are due May 10. 

Participate in a phone appointment with your school (for students in College of Arts & Sciences, Undeclared Students, Education, & Business)


Send your final high school transcripts to UP

July 1

Send any AP/IB scores and college transcripts to UP

July 1

Take the Math and/or Language placement test (if required – see below)

May 10

After August 1st, look at your schedule and contact your program counselor if you have questions or would like to make changes

After August 1

Buy your textbooks. We suggest waiting until your schedule is completely finalized to buy your books
