Fall New Student Registration

All new students (first-year and transfer students) are invited to Meet UP with a Student Ambassador to start the registration process from May-July. Before that conversation, please complete the following items: 

Information from this conversation will be shared with the new students school or college, and will be used to register them for classes for their first term. Students are registered for courses that satisfy university core requirements, college requirements, and major requirements, so everyone's schedules will look different depending on your major.


Registration To-Do List and Deadlines

Complete the Registration & Advising Survey (emailed to your UP email address)

As soon as possible, best by May 10

If you would like to request accommodations for a disability at the University of Portland, contact Accessible Education Services to discuss requesting accommodations

As soon as possible, best by June 10. Housing accommodations are due June 10. 

Participate in a phone appointment with your school (for students in College of Arts & Sciences, Undeclared Students, Education, & Business)

Send your final high school transcripts to UP

July 1

Send any AP/IB scores and college transcripts to UP

July 1

Take the Math and/or Language placement test (if required – see below)

As soon as possible, best by May 10

After August 1st, look at your schedule and contact your program counselor if you have questions or would like to make changes

Buy your textbooks. We suggest waiting until your schedule is completely finalized to buy your books
