Registration Process for New Students in the School of Nursing & Health Innovations

For your first term at the University of Portland, all students in the School of Nursing & Health Innovations will be registered by the School of Nursing & Health Innovations Program Counselor. The nursing curriculum for the first year is a fairly set schedule to best prepare you for completing graduation requirements.

 Registration Timeline

Send IP, AB, and College Transcripts to UP: Scores and transcripts must be sent to UP by November 1st. View instructions on transferring AP, IB, and college credit to UP.

November 1

Program Counselors Build Schedule: You are welcome to email the School of Nursing & Health Innocations with any additional questions or concerns you may have about your registration. View instructions on how to view your schedule.

November - December

Classes Begin

January 17

First Week of Classes: Changes can be made to your schedule during this week. The deadline to add or drop classes from your schedule is the Friday of the first week of the semester.

Typical First Semester Class Schedule

First-year Nursing and Integrative Health and Wellness students will be in a schedule that is a combination of University Core and Major requirements. First year nursing and IHW students are typically registered for 16 credits.

Classes at UP are offered one, two, three, and sometimes four times a week. Labs or workshops for science courses meet once a week.

Want to major in Nursing but didn't get accepted into the School of Nursing & Health Innovations?

If you were not accepted to the School of Nursing & Health Innovation upon admission, it may be possible to transfer into the program later. This year's School of Nursing cohort is at capacity, and internal transfers interested in transferring into the Nursing major must apply with the external transfer applicant pool.
