Portland Pilots alumni Megan Rapinoe ’08 led the USWNT to a Women’s World Cup Championship. Two days before she lifted the World Cup trophy and her individual honors for the Golden Ball trophy and the Golden Boot trophy, she celebrated her 34th birthday. Shiley School of Engineering professor Aziz Inan, known for his brainteasers, constructed a list of birthday “curiosities” in her honor.

Congratulations to Megan and USWNT!

- Rapinoe turned 34 on 7/5/19 and if 34 is split as 3 and 4, the 3
^{rd}and 4^{th}prime numbers, namely 5 and 7, put side by side as 7/5 yields Rapinoe’s birthdate. - Furthermore, if 7/5 is split as 7 and 5, 7 plus 5 equals 12, 12 equals 3 times 4, and 3 and 4 put side by side as 34 is Rapinoe’s new age.
- The sum of 3 and 4 equals 7, the square-root of the sum of the squares of 3 and 4 is 5, and again, 7 and 5 put side by side results in 7/5.
- Additionally, the prime factors of 34, namely 2 and 17, add up to 19.
- Rapinoe’s 34
^{th}birthday coincides with the 186^{th}day of 2019 and interestingly, 186 equals twice 93, the reverse of 93 is 39, and 39 equals the sum of the left and right halves of 2019. - The sum of the digits of Rapinoe’s birthdate 7/5/1985 equals 35 and 35 is 7 times 5 (7/5).
- If numbers 1 to 26 are assigned to letters A to Z, the sum of the letter numbers of
*Megan Anna Rapinoe*equals 148. Interestingly, twice the sum of the squares of 7 and 5 equals 148 too. - Further, 148 equals twice 74, the prime factors of 74 are 2 and 37, 2 and 37 differ by 35, and again, 35 equals 7 times 5 (7/5).
- The sum of the letter numbers of
*Megan Rapinoe*equals 118 and the difference of the prime factors of 118, namely 2 and 59, equals 57, Rapinoe’s birthdate, 5 July (5/7). - Additionally, the reverse of 118 is 811, 811 is the 141
^{st}prime number, and 5 times 141 gives 705, Rapinoe’s birthdate, July 5 (7/05). - The letter numbers of Rapinoe add up to 78, the 78
^{th}prime number is 397, and 5 times 397 yields her birth year, 1985. - Rapinoe’s 33
^{rd}birthday last year expressed as 7/05/2018 was special because if split as 705 and 2018, the reverse of 705 was 507, 507 equals 3 times 169, and twice the 169^{th}prime number, namely 1009, yields 2018. - Rapinoe’s 35
^{th}birthday next year (2020) will be special since again, 35 equals 7 times 5 (7/5). - Rapinoe’s 40
^{th}birthday expressed as 7/5/25 will be special too because if split as 75 and 25, 25 times the difference of its digits, namely 3, equals 75. - Rapinoe’s 43
^{rd}birthday in 2028 will also be special since 7 and 5 are the 4^{th}and 3^{rd}prime numbers and 4 and 3 side by side yields 43. Further, 2028 is 4 times 507 and the reverse of 507, namely 705, is July 5 (7/05). Also, 43 is the 14^{th}prime number and 43 plus 14 results in 57, Rapinoe’s birthdate, 5 July (5/7). - Rapinoe’s 49
^{th}birthday expressed as 7/5/34 will be special too because if split as 7, 5, 3, and 4, again, 7 and 5 are the 4^{th}and 3^{rd}prime numbers. - Rapinoe’s 50
^{th}birthday in 2035 expressed as 7/5/35 will also be special since again, 35 equals 7 times 5. Additionally, the prime factors of 2035, namely 5, 11, and 37, add up to 53 and the reverse of 53 is 35 too. - Also, if Rapinoe’s 50
^{th}birthday expressed as 7/05/2035 is split as 705, 20, and 35, the sum of the prime factors of 705, namely 3, 5, and 47, equals 20 plus 35. - Rapinoe’s 57
^{th}birthday in 2042 will also be special since 57 interpreted as 5 July (5/7) is her birthdate. - Rapinoe’s 72
^{nd}birthday in 2057 expressed as 7/5/57 will be a palindrome day. - Rapinoe’s 74
^{th}birthday in 2059 will be special too since twice 74 is 148 (Megan Anna Rapinoe). - Rapinoe’s 75
^{th}birthday in 2060 will also be special since 75 coincides with her birthdate (7/5). - Rapinoe’s 78
^{th}birthday in 2063 will be special too since 78 equals the sum of the letter numbers of Rapinoe. - Lastly, Rapinoe’s 90
^{th}birthday expressed as 7/5/75 will also be special because it is made of two 75’s put side by side.
