About UP: Bell Tower Web Cam
The University's Bell Tower was made possible by a generous gift from Allen and Kathleen Lund. Standing at more than 100 feet, it is the tallest building on campus, and is visible from points in downtown Portland. Fourteen bells of various sizes encased in the tower will bring chimes and music to campus on a daily and seasonal basis. The bells range in size from 77 to 1,400 pounds, and each of them has been sponsored by a generous donor. Proceeds from the bell sponsorship have created an campus ministry endowment fund.
A web camera perched atop Shiley Hall brings a continuous feed of activity on the Academic Quad adjacent to the Bell Tower and the Chapel of Christ the Teacher.
