What You'll Find

In the heart of downtown, Pioneer Courthouse Square is sometimes called Portland's Living Room. Check out one or more of the many events planned within the square. Walk one block to Pioneer Place shopping mall for a variety of major retailers, or grab a bite at the food court. Explore around Pioneer Square for lots of additional shopping options, including Nordstrom department store. Catch a movie inside Pioneer Place or at nearby Fox Tower. National acts perform music, dance, and comedy at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall or Antoinette Hatfield Hall. A few blocks east of Pioneer Square, you'll find Tom McCall Waterfront Park. Enjoy a stroll along the Willamette River, or take in the food, art, crafts, and street performers at Portland Saturday Market.

What You'll Find
Located in the heart of Southeast Portland, the Hawthorne area stretches nearly 50 blocks, from SE 12th Ave. to SE 60th Ave., and is filled with one-of-a-kind shops and restaurants. Spend an afternoon window shopping, trying on new and vintage clothing, and snacking on food from some of Portland's favorite eateries. Don't miss Memento PDX (local art and gifts), Powell's on Hawthorne (a satellite location of the flagship bookstore), the Bagdad Theater (first-run movies and pizza in a beer pub), or Apizza Scholls (one of Portland's best pizzas).

An eclectic mix of shops, restaurants, and pubs. Portland is well known for its dining scene and you'll understand why when you visit Mississippi Ave. There's live music nearly every night at Mississippi Studios, and Mississippi Pizza offers live music, karaoke, trivia, and more. Some Pilots favorites: Prost! (authentic German food and pub), and Gravy (breakfast served all day).

NW 23rd avenue, also known as Nob Hill, is a perfect neighborhood to explore on foot with lots of one-of-a-kind boutiques, national retailers, and delicious eateries. Best of all, two blocks away on NW 21st avenue, there are more opportunities for strolling, shopping, and eating. Restaurants range from Bamboo Sushi and Papa Haydn to Escape from New York Pizza and McMenamins Blue Moon Tavern & Grill. Unique shops include Sloan Boutique, Tender Loving Empire and Betsy & Iya jewelry. National chains are represented by Urban Outfitters, Pottery Barn, Lucky Brand and Lush Cosmetics. Catch a movie at Cinema 21 — and don't forget to sample a deliciously uncommon ice cream flavor at Salt & Straw.

Walk around and explore some of Portland's best known attractions including the famous Powell's City of Books.
