Programs of Study
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Want to become an RN? You will get direct entry into our CCNE accredited program and earn your BSN with our innovative and student-centered concept-based curriculum. SONHI graduates had a 98.25% total pass rate on the NCLEX exam in 2024, so you can feel confident about your educational investment.
Doctor of Nursing Practice
DNP students are prepared to practice as a family nurse practitioner (FNP). Our 76-credit hybrid program combines online learning with periodic on-campus immersion sessions and RNs with a bachelor's or master's degree in nursing are invited to apply. Note: The DNP-FNP program is not currently accepting new students.
Health Care Management Certificate
Invest in your potential for growth and career development with our 12-credit certificate program in health care management. Students are provided practical instruction on business analytics, systems and resource management, informatics, and more.
The Elsie Franz-Finley Simulated Health Center
Oregon's first fully accredited simulated health center provides an unmatched educational experience for healthcare students. From hospital-grade equipment to lifelike patient encounters with trained actors, the environment closely replicates the complexity of modern healthcare settings. Small class sizes and low student-to-faculty ratios ensure individualized coaching, reflective practice, and frequent hands-on training, allowing every learner to engage in a meaningful way.

Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education
The baccalaureate degree program in nursing and the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at University of Portland are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
National Board for Health and Wellness Coach Training
"University of Portland School of Nursing & Health Innovations - Integrative Health Coaching Program” is an Approved Health and Wellness Coach Training & Education Program by the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC). Graduates of this program are eligible to apply for the HWC Certifying Examination to become National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC).
Society for Simulation in Healthcare
The University of Portland Elsie-Finley Simulated Health Center is fully accredited by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) in the area of Teaching/Education.
