Dr. Christine Weilhoefer is an Associate Professor of Biology and Environmental Studies at the University of Portland, where she teaches and studies wetlands ecology and how anthropogenic activities impact aquatic ecosystems. Her courses include BIO208/278 Introduction to Evolution and Ecology, BIO304/374 Wetlands Ecology, and BIO363/373 Freshwater Ecology. Her recent publications examine the effects of excess nitrogen on salt marsh foodweb structure and invasive vegetation on freshwater wetland functioning. Her current research focuses on the effects of climate change on the persistence of estuarine tidal wetlands. She earned a PhD in Environmental Science and Resources from Portland State University, a MA in Marine Science from the University of Texas at Austin, and a BA in Botany and Environmental Studies from Connecticut College.
