I am looking forward to continuing working with and mentoring UP nursing students in a new way this fall and to share how the nursing profession is so dynamic.

Desiree Senffner is an University of Portland alumna, having received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the university. The majority of her career has been spent here in Portland, Oregon; with the exception of working for a year in Omaha, Nebraska. Desiree's clinical experience focuses on medical-surgical and pediatric units within her community. Desiree was able to incorporate her love for pediatrics with her faith, working as a parish nurse at a Catholic Church. Her most recent experience includes working here, at the University of Portland, as an academic advisor for SONHI during the last 21 months. One of Desiree's greatest passions includes mentoring nursing students and new hires within her current and previous roles. Working for the School of Nursing allows Desiree to continue doing what she lovesfilling her cup each day. In Desiree's free time, she enjoys watching her children play sports, moving her body through exercise, gardening, and cooking.
