Jim Carroll is a professor in the School of Education at the University of Portland. He has been part of the UP faculty since 1993 and taught at Washington State University prior to that time in both studio art and educational administration. He earned his Ph.D. in 1990 from Washington State University in educational administration. His current teaching assignment includes educational research courses at the graduate level. Jim has published in the areas of higher education department chairs, educational technology, and assessment in teacher preparation. He has participated in a number of federal grants focused on educational technology, and he presents research on assessment practices at numerous professional conferences each year.
