About

Joy Moceri, DNP, RN, FNP-C, is an Assistant Professor at the University of Portland, School of Nursing and Health Innovations. Dr. Moceri completed her DNP degree at the University of Portland in 2019, and BSN degree at the University of Portland in 2010. After eight years as a registered nurse in a local emergency room, she pursued a doctorate in nursing practice to advocate for patients along their wellness journey. She practiced as a paneled primary care provider prior to the onset of the COVID pandemic and was inspired by how necessity sparked overdue innovations, specifically the widespread adoption of telehealth. Dr. Moceri is passionate about healthcare reform and the pursuit of new delivery models which support patient-centered and trauma-informed care. She enjoys incorporating integrative health and complementary therapies into her own practice —including mindfulness, which was the subject of her doctoral research.
