About

Michael Pelley serves as the Director for International Student Services, leads international admissions and recruitment, and is the Principal Designated School Official and Responsible Officer for the University.

Michael has been a high school history teacher on the Island of Yap, an English as a second language teacher in Taiwan and Japan, as well as a history and contemporary world issue's teacher at St. Francis Academy in Portland. He has led several experiential learning tours for high school students to the east coast of the U.S. and to China. Michael also teaches a course at UP called Intercultural Engagement and Leadership.

Michael has been professionally involved in international education for nearly 30 years, 20 of them at UP. He has served in leadership positions at the regional level for international professional organizations such as NAFSA and NORIE.
