About
Robert Zipp is the Administrative Assistant to the Dean for the Donald P. Shiley School of Engineering at the University of Portland. He joined the Shiley School in 2019, holding court at the front desk of the Dean’s Suite in Shiley Hall before attaining his current title and moving into an office. Before joining UP, Robert worked for three years as an Administrative Assistant for the Liberal Arts Instructional Technology Services department at the University of Texas at Austin. He holds bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Music, as well as a master’s degree in Music History and Literature.
His role at Shiley offers him the opportunity to have a hand in almost all operations involved in running the school. Aside from assisting the Dean, Robert works directly with faculty, staff, and students to help support whatever projects they are working on.
When Robert is not at work, he spends time with his wife and their three cats at their home in St. Johns. An eternal student, he enjoys exploring a wide range of topics, with a primary focus on music, linguistics, and psychology.
