The Covert Family
The family of Dr. James T. Covert, founder of the University Museum and longtime University of Portland history professor, recognized the importance of sharing the University's history with a wider audience. Their generous gift made possible the creation of the Dr. James T. Covert Gallery and the Digital Museum, expanding community access to the Museum's collections and stories.
The Leadem Family
Each year, the Ellen M. Leadem Annual Scholarship is awarded to a University of Portland student who is interested in pursuing studies in library science. The Leadem family generously established this scholarship in honor of Ellen Leadem, wife, mother, and librarian for over 25 years. Ellen was passionate about expanding access to information and providing for the next generation of librarians.
