Favorite Spot on Campus: Merlo Field; I am a huge fan of soccer and being able to come out and support UP with my friends is one of my favorite things to do on campus. We are lucky to have such a competitive program that showcases so much talent when they play on Merlo Field, which is one of the most beautiful soccer stadiums I have ever seen. The atmosphere at Merlo is simply unmatched.
Favorite UP Class: NRS 206 - Simulation Lab; This class was really my first step into real nursing, during the spring semester of my sophomore year. In this class, we got to learn different nursing interventions like head-to-toe assessments, injections, medication administration, and more. After a year removed, I still feel like I use those skills every day in my clinical sites. I enjoy this class so much that I started helping out as a Teacher's Assistant!
Why did you decide to enroll in UP?: After visiting UP on a cold and rainy day, I instantly fell in love with the campus. This was my first time visiting the PNW, and I had no idea what to expect. One of the first things I noticed was the warm welcoming community I saw everywhere I went, and it ultimately made me feel right at home, even during such gloomy weather. On top of that, I knew that my goal was to become a nurse, and the nursing program at UP is top-notch. I feel like I have learned so much and will be prepared when it comes time for me to enter the world of healthcare.
