Admissions: Freshmen

Members of the University of Portland’s freshmen class are among the best, brightest, and most academically qualified students in the Pacific Northwest. More than 800 new freshmen join the University of Portland community each fall, and each year their high school achievements surpass those of the classes ahead of them. The freshman class of 2008 entered the University with an average SAT score of 1187 with the middle 50 percent from 1090-1280; an average ACT score of 26 with the middle 50 percent from 24-28; and an average high school GPA of 3.66.

Applications for freshmen admission are accepted beginning September 1 of each year for the following fall. There are three ways to apply to the University: the University of Portland Freshman Online Application, the Common Application, or the University of Portland paper application.
