What are you most excited about for your Next Port? 
I am excited to begin my medical education and training! I am looking forward to being one step closer to becoming an empathetic and culturally competent physician that aims to deliver accessible and equitable care to all, especially the underserved! 
 
What advice would you give to your first-year self? 
It may be hard to believe, but you will get through all of the difficult hurdles and challenges. Never stop seeking help or advocating for yourself. Most importantly, take care of yourself; you really can't pour from an empty cup. ¡Puedes con esto y más! 
 
Was there a class, internship or experience that shaped your direction to your post-graduate plans? 
I would say my job as a medical assistant, research experiences, and learning advocacy while working for FGEN all affirmed my desire to go into healthcare as a physician and become an advocate! 
 
Who at the University of Portland had the most impact on shaping your next step? 
Dr. Molly Matty, Dr. Warren Wood, and Dr. Giannina Reyes-Giardiello! The absolute best mentors and support systems.
