University of Portland Launches Accelerated 3-Year Business Degree Pathway

graduating student holding diploma pumps fist after crossing the stageUniversity of Portland (UP) School of Business has announced a new 3-To-Degree program, giving ambitious students an accelerated pathway to earn a traditional, full-credit bachelor’s degree in business in just three years. Designed specifically for high-achieving high school graduates entering college with Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), or dual-enrollment credits, the initiative significantly reduces tuition costs and accelerates career entry without compromising academic quality.

As higher education trends toward reduced-credit degrees, UP's 3-To-Degree program stands apart by maintaining the gold standard of business education: a robust, 120-credit-hour curriculum backed by AACSB accreditation—a distinction earned by fewer than six percent of business schools worldwide.

Cut Time. Cut Cost. Don’t Cut Corners.

Unlike shortened degree models that trim coursework or eliminate in-person instruction, UP preserves the full academic rigor, hands-on learning, and ethical focus of its four-year programs. Students graduate a year early—saving money and accelerating their careers—all while gaining the communication skills, critical thinking, scientific literacy, and values-driven foundation that are hallmarks of a UP education and essential for long-term career growth.

High-achieving students shouldn't have to choose between saving time and getting a premier education," said University of Portland Provost David Mengel, PhD. "We’re delivering a full-value, AACSB-accredited degree that prepares graduates to lead on day one."

Full Flexibility Across All Business Majors

The 3-To-Degree pathway is available across all School of Business majors, offering unparalleled flexibility compared to other accelerated programs.

Students in the program benefit from dedicated academic advising, along with full access to UP's faculty mentorship, career counseling, executive networking, and study abroad opportunities.

Applications for the 3-To-Degree program are open for incoming first-year students. To learn more, visit business.up.edu/undergraduate/3todegree.
