To become a degree candidate, you must file an application for graduation with the Office of the Registrar for the semester in which you intend to complete all your degree requirements by the deadline listed below. Failure to file by the deadline may jeopardize your anticipated graduation date. If you do not meet the requirements for graduation, you will need to re-apply for graduation for the semester in which you will complete all the requirements.

Application Deadlines

Last day to apply for Fall 2020 graduation: 
Monday, March 2, 2020

Last day to apply for Spring 2020 graduation:
Tuesday, October 1, 2019

Last day to apply for Summer 2020 graduation:
Monday, February 3, 2020
In order to be eligible to graduate, you must complete all course work at the University of Portland by the last day of the semester, and complete any/all graduation deficiencies such as incomplete/in progress removals and acceptance of transfer credits by the deadlines below.
December 7, 2020 for Fall 2020 graduation.

April 27, 2020 for Spring 2020 graduation.

August 3, 2020 for Summer 2020 graduation.

The FINAL RESPONSIBILITY for completing all requirements for a degree rests with the student.

Additional Information

The diploma will list your name, degree, and any applicable Latin honors. University of Portland diplomas do not list the major. Please contact the Office of the Registrar with any questions.

Spring 2020 graduates may pick up diplomas at the Office of the Registrar following each Commencement ceremony. The Office of the Registrar will be open for two hours after the conclusion of each ceremony and photo ID will be required.
