Dennis R. Howser, was born in Kansas City, Missouri and grew up in Los Angeles CA, completed his high school diploma at Fountain Valley High School, CA in 1972, and then joined the Air Force about one year later. He got married in 1982, has two children, and three grandchildren.
Career
His Air Force career was from 13 August 1973 to 31 August 1993, where he served 12 years in Europe including assignments in Belgium, Italy, and Spain. He deployed in support of operation Desert Shield/ Storm and in numerous temporary duty assignments worldwide, with many awards and medals to show for it, and his background was in Logistics. His stateside assignments included George AFB, CA, Edwards AFB, CA, Kirkland AFB, NM and Travis AFB, CA. He honorably retired from the Air Force with the rank of Technical Sergeant.
Bio
He worked in the Air Force as a Vehicle Mechanic, Material Supply Controller, Maintenance Controller and Analyst, Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor and Mobility Planner. As a civilian, after military retirement, he returned to Italy to work and live for about 7 years; He initially worked for the Defense Logistical Agency as a Material Examiner & Identifier in the property book office, and then moved on to the Department of Defense Education Activity Oversees School System to serve as a Supply Technician and School Support Assistant for the Livorno Unit School; he then got reassigned here, stateside, to Cadet Command, at Eastern Washington University. His home, for now, is Spokane, WA but still looking for a warmer place to retire where there is no snow and preferably near a beach!
He has about 18 years working for DOD, in civil service, currently with the US Army Cadet Command for about 10 years; He has a combined, total service of over 38 years. He earned his Associate degree in Automotive Technology and Arts from the Community College of the Air Force and his Bachelor of Science degree in Management, from the University of Maryland. He enjoys fun, family, walking, travel, good food and drink!
