Study Abroad Programs
UP Salzburg, Austria (Fall or Spring)
Open to all majors! Study at the UP Salzburg Center in a community with other UP students. Fulfill Core requirements, take a German language course and courses in English from local Austrian faculty.
UNDA Fremantle, Australia (Fall or Spring)
Open to all majors. Study during the Fall (July-Nov) or Spring (Feb-June) at the University of Notre Dame Australia's campus near Perth. Join clubs, organizations, and see the many sights Australia offers.
GEO London - Liberal Arts (Fall or Spring)
Open to all majors! Option to have a custom internship placement and work with a local organization in London! Choose between "Liberal Arts in London" or "Liberal Arts in London with Internship".
GEO London - Business (Spring)
Designed for UP Business majors to study in London, work with a local organization through a custom internship placement, and stay on track with UP Business degree requirements!
IES Nantes, France - French Language Immersion & Area Studies (Fall or Spring)
Take courses all in French and live with a French host family! Spend a semester immersed in the lively river-side city of Nantes. (FRN 301 and 302 prerequisite)
Emlyon Business School Lyon, France (Fall or Spring)
For Business majors only. Take courses in English at a global Business School. Good fit for independent, highly motivated and self-sufficient students.
IES Berlin, Germany - Language & Area Studies (Fall or Spring)
Take courses all in German and earn upper division GRM credit! Explore Berlin's art scene, modern landmarks, and history. (GRM 301 and 302 prerequisite)
IES Freiburg, Germany - Language & Area Studies (Fall or Spring)
Take courses all in German and earn upper division GRM credit! Spend a semester in this university city and its reconstructed medieval town. Perfect for hiking, walks around brooks, and exploring history. (GRM 301 and 302 prerequisite)
ILACA Galway, Ireland (Spring)
Open to all majors! Enroll at University of Galway, take Irish Life & Culture and get to see different parts of Ireland and Northern Ireland through excursions.
JCU Rome, Italy (Fall or Spring)
Open to all majors! Enroll at John Cabot University, an American university in Rome! No language prerequisite, but JCU offers Italian language courses.
Sophia University, Tokyo, Japan (Spring or Full-year)
Open to all majors! Study in the heart of Tokyo for Spring (April-July) or the full academic year. Good fit for independent, highly motivated and self-sufficient students. No language prerequisites, but Sophia University offers optional Japanese language courses.
ILACA Granada, Spain (Fall or Spring)
Open to all majors! Spanish language immersion. Live with host families in this city in the south of Spain, and explore the historical city. Visit Moorish architecture, fortresses, and sprawling gardens. (Prerequisite SPN 301 and 302, or SPN 308).
Sogang University, Seoul, South Korea (Fall or Spring)
Open to all majors! Study at Sogang University, near the center of Seoul. Explore the city's modern-meets-historical sights, high-tech subways, and temples. No language prerequisite, but Sogang University offers optional Korean language courses.
Global E3 (Fall, Spring, or Full-Year)
Only Engineering Majors. Browse the GE3 website for all the possibilities!
IES Abroad (Fall, Spring, or Full-Year)
IES Abroad offers a variety of study abroad programs and internships during the summer. You would pay the program fee determined by IES directly to IES + a $400 administrative fee to UP, charged to your UP student account. UP scholarships/grants are not available, but IES offers scholarships, and other types of financial aid or external scholarships may be available.
Summer and Faculty-Led Programs
If you want to have an international experience with a shorter duration, we encourage you to explore summer and faculty-led program options! Short-term program cost is a set program fee and varies by program. Program fees may include housing, tuition, insurance, and excursions. Faculty-led and summer program offerings vary each year and are subject to change. Program offerings are usually announced at the beginning of fall semester, for the following summer.
UP scholarships/grants do not apply. However, other types of funding, such as federal grants, federal direct loans (if eligible), institutional loans, study abroad scholarships or external scholarships, may be available. Open to all majors! Surrounded by the Austrian Alps and home to the Salzburg Music Festival, students take two courses taught by UP faculty. Students live together at UP's Salzburg campus, with classes and excursions led by UP faculty. GEO Querétaro, Mexico (Summer)
Open to all majors! Live with Mexican host families. Take 3 courses (7 credits) from Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro (UAQ). (Spanish requirements: Completion of SPN 102, or testing into 201 or higher. Receive credit for 201 and 202 by taking three A2 intermediate courses.)
Business in Seoul, South Korea (Summer)
Open to all majors! Live, study, and work in the heart of South Korea. Join Instructor Montana Hisel-Cochran in Seoul this summer, take BUS 360: Cross-Cultural Organizational Behavior and Ethics, and participate in an internship for credit!
