Facilities Planning & Construction: River Campus
In December 2008, the University of Portland completed its purchase of the Triangle Park property on the Willamette River waterfront. The property referred to as the "River Campus" is comprised of 35 acres adjacent to the west and 135 feet below the campus. The 2,250 linear feet of waterfront provides a host of opportunities for natural resources for the University's environmental science program, and expansion of our facilities. The University has been involved in a planning process with its public partners including the City of Portland, the Department of Environmental Quality, the Environmental Protection Agency and neighborhood leaders to discuss the short and long term plans for development of the property. For more information on the campus expansion, please click on the link to the right.
Hazardous material remediation started on the River Campus August 1, 2012. Environcon was hired for this remediation project. It will be completed by the end of November. Currently regrading of the river bank is underway by placing excavated materials as a foundation for the new baseball field. All docks are being detached for regrading of the banks.
