Health Center: Mental Health
We concern ourselves with the holistic development of each individual in and as a part of, our community. We strive to create an environment of hospitality and safety so that students may better prevent, treat, or heal from injuries and diseases of mind, body, or spirit. Hospitality, so central to the Holy Cross Charism, is central to our presence with each person we serve whether they are students, parents, or colleagues of the University community.
If you would like to schedule an appointment with a counselor to discuss your concerns and see if counseling might help you, call the main HealthCenter number (943-7134). Tell the medical receptionist that you would like to make a counseling appointment. You will be offered an appointment with the first available counselor. If you already have an established relationship with a counselor, that will be taken into consideration.
If you feel like you need to be seen right away and cannot wait for the first available opening, tell the receptionist that you would like to be seen sooner. The receptionist will ask you a few questions and then consult with the mental health staff to determine how your needs can best be accommodated.
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency at a time when the HealthCenter is closed, the following resources are available:
- Public Safety can answer questions about safety and direct you to the appropriate medical personnel. 503-943-7161
- Multnomah County Crisis Line is staffed by mental health professionals 24-hours per day. 503-988-4888
