Information Services: Chief Information Officer

Jim Ravelli was appointed chief information officer in August 2008. He works  closely with the University’s executive officers as the chief strategist and visionary for comprehensive information technology (IT) planning and implementation. He directs the institution’s academic and administrative computer and voice and data communications personnel. He also is primarily responsible for leading the wide variety of campus technology users toward an environment that achieves the institution’s goals related to technology. Ravelli has served as vice president, service delivery for EasyStreet Online Services, based in Beaverton; senior director, global IT Operations (acting CIO) for VMware in Palo Alto, Calif.; CIO and director of IT Infrastructure for Brocade Communications in San Jose, Calif.; and founder and president of Archinetix, Incorporated, based in Portland. He has a bachelor of science degree in engineering from Arizona State University.
