#PilotsGive, University of Portland's first ever 24-hour day of giving, declared a great success

April 9, 2018

On April 4-5, 2018, the University of Portland launched #PilotsGive, a first ever 24-hour day of giving meant to inspire the UP community, whether local or from around the world, to come together for 24 hours to help make UP stronger. The initial goal of receiving gifts from 1,000 donors was met and exceeded with contributions made by 2,771 donors. At the end of the 24-hour period, a total of $683,263 was raised, with gifts received from regents, alumni, parents, employees, and friends, all united to support students.

Every gift made through #PilotsGive was focused on impacting students at UP – whether it as a gift to Campus Ministry, or to an existing scholarship, or to athletics, or to faculty development – the focus was on making UP accessible to more students and on raising up the next generation of leaders from The Bluff.

#PilotsGive is an annual event and will be held again on April 3-4, 2019. The goal for #PilotsGive 2019 is to reach $1 million in support for our students.
