22 pieces of advice for #UP22

Earlier this week the UP Instagram community was asked what advice they have for #UP22. These are 22 of their responses. 

keep your door open as much as you. You never know who you will meet.

It may be a little rocket at first, but that's okay. Trust that UP is where you are meant to be.

Don't stay in your room the whole first weekend.

Bring less stuff than you think you will need. Online shopping is always there for you.

Invest in a good reusable water bottle.

It's okay to be homesick. Find new friends or take time to yourself.

take things slow, be patient and appreciate your parents help.

worry less. college is an incredible time of growth and discovery. Live in the moment.

Don't be afraid to ask for help.

Nobody else knows what they are doing either, so just do you.

Be open to change and learn into fear.

Talk to your professor. They can connect you with opportunities of a lifetime.

Don't get caught up in constantly doing homework. Be spontaneous.

Join clubs

It's okay not to participate in everything. Be selective, but do show up.

Good weather is just a phase. Bring a jacket (or two) for the rain.

Always have a cinnamon roll from the Commons on Sundays. It will help ease stress.

Go to Athletics events. It is a great way to meet new people and support other students.

Get to know your librarians. They are part of your academic team and can save you time.

Your health matter. Visit the Health and Counseling Center.

Keep up with The Beacon. They have everything you need to know as a student.

Attend CPB events!
