About

Maureen Briare, BSN, MA, RN, is an Instructor at the University of Portland, School of Nursing and Health Innovations, and also serves as an RN at the Harrington Health Center at the Blanchet House in Old Town, Portland. Instructor "Mo" Briare is a Pilot through and through! She completed her BSN degree with a minor in music at the University of Portland in 1992 and MA degree in Music, Composition at the University of Portland in 2004. She joined the faculty of University of Portland in 2000 after working as a rehabilitation RN, home health and hospice RN and quality management RN across the Pacific Northwest. Maureen is a professional harpist and published composer of choral and instrumental works, and is pursuing an EdD in Neuroeducation, with hopes of furthering research and study in the areas of palliative care, anxiety and well-being, by integrating healing music and therapeutic practices, such as mindfulness, within these arenas, and within the classroom.
