Faith & Spirituality

Since our founding, UP has been guided by the Congregation of Holy Cross, a community of Roman Catholic priests and brothers who are committed to educating students in mind and heart. Students are encouraged to ask questions about their values, beliefs, and role in the world. Campus Ministry offers spiritual counseling and retreats that are open to everyone as well as a variety of programs for faith development. Pastoral residents live in every residence hall, and theology and philosophy classes are part of every major. The Garaventa Center hosts renowned speakers who bring into focus questions that address faith and culture. And for students who wish to participate, Mass is celebrated daily and on Sundays in the Chapel of Christ the Teacher and weekly in each residence hall.
