Music Auditions

Auditions are necessary for placement in any of UP’s music ensembles. 

For fall admits, these auditions will take place Sunday, August 25 between 8:30 AM and 1:00 PM as follows:

• Wind Symphony (MUS 443) and Pep Band (non-credited) – Buckley Center Auditorium and basement classrooms.  Contact Dr. Patrick Murphy (murphyp@up.edu) for more information or to set up an audition.

• University Singers (MUS 444), Chamber Choir (MUS 447H) and Bel Canto (MUS 452) – Mago Hunt Center Recital Hall.  Contact Dr. David De Lyser (delyser@up.edu) for more information or to set up an audition.

• Chamber Orchestra (MUS 445) - Buckley Center Auditorium and basement classrooms.  Contact Dr. Rebekah Hanson (hansonr@up.edu) for more information or to set up an audition.

• Jazz Ensemble (MUS 453) – Mago Hunt Center Theater.  Contact Dr. Don Norton (nortond@up.edu) for more information or to set up an audition.

For spring admits, contact the ensemble director listed above to schedule an individual audition.

If you would like to be in an ensemble, you should register for that ensemble.  In the event you are not placed in that ensemble after your audition, you can drop the course before the end of the add/drop period (the first week of classes).
