Studies Abroad: Toledo Summer Intermediate Spanish
Students take one intermediate Spanish class for 6 credit hours total. Prerequisites: Spanish 101 and 102.
- SPN 205 Accelerated Intermediate Spanish – 6 credits (Native faculty from Spain)
This course is equivalent to SPN 201 and 202 on the home campus.
Toledo has a rich heritage from the Jewish, Muslim, and Christian cultures from the early Middle Ages. Madrid is about an hour away, easily accessible by rail or bus.
Students have the opportunity to develop Spanish skills in the classroom with faculty from Spain. Participants reside in the residence at the Fundación Ortega y Gasset. Meals are provided. Excursions may include trips to Madrid, Segovia, and the Route of Don Quixote. Upon their return to Portland, students will be prepared to enroll in 300-level Spanish courses.
Students must arrive by 12:00 pm on Thursday, May 8, 2014 and must depart by 10:00 am on Saturday, June 14, 2014.
The program cost is $5,000. This cost includes tuition for six credit hours, housing and meals, excursions (including some meals and admissions), and insurance. The cost does not include airfare.
