Career Center

The Career Center helps students and alumni identify skills and interests to help choose a major or explore career opportunities. They will start working with you as soon as your first semester on campus and will continue helping you on your career development journey long after you graduate.

The Career Center can help you choose or change your major; search for jobs or internships; practice your interviewing skills; develop your resume; and much more.

Clark Library

Clark Library is the hub of academic life at University of Portland. Not only is it a favorite spot for traditional studying (alone or with a group), but students also have access to a digital lab and multimedia production studio and, of course, thousands of books, periodicals, and online resources.

First Generation (FGEN) Students

First-generation students at University of Portland are students whose parents or guardians have not earned a four-year college degree. At UP, approximately 20 percent of the student population identifies as a first generation college student. Our FGEN community offers academic support and engagement opportunities with others on campus.

Shepard Academic Resource Center

The Shepard Academic Resource Center offers resources for you and partners with you to help you academically and with other needs beyond the classroom. Our services include support for first-year students,  Accessible Education Services, the Learning Commons (for peer tutoring), First Generation Students programming, learning assistance counseling (note taking skills, studying skills, and more), advising support, and parent and family resources
