Studies Abroad: London Nursing Summer
CURRICULUM:
Students take two classes for 6 credits total:
FA 207 Fine Arts –
Dr. Larry Larsen (Director)
(core coarse).
HST 221 Modern Western Civilization –
Dr. Elise Moentmann
(core coarse).
NRS 203 Life Processes and Health Promotion Across the Life Span
– Dr. Barbara Braband
(NRS 203 is required by the School of Nursing).
THE EXPERIENCE:
Students fulfill a required nursing class and a University core class while studying in London. Students will have the opportunity to attend five theatre/music performance events while in London. Excursions will include visits to Cambridge, Canterbury, Dover, Hampton Court, and Greenwich. Students will also visit the National Portrait Gallery, Westminster Abbey, the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum and the Florence Nightingale Museum in London.
COST
:
The program will cost $6,300, which includes six credit hours, housing, theatre tickets, museum admissions, London tube pass, excursions in England and insurance. This cost does not include food or airfare.
PROGRAM DATES:
The program begins with arrival in London on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 and concludes on the morning of Thursday, August 1, 2013. Participants must arrive before 6 pm on June 25 and depart before 10 am on August 1.
LIVING QUARTERS:
Students will live in apartments with kitchen facilities in downtown London.
