UP Salzburg, Austria (Semester)
Study abroad in Salzburg for a semester!
Explore this enchanting city, with its fortress, cathedrals, and picturesque markets. Learn from Salzburg’s historical streets and events, some dating as far back as the Middle Ages. Visit the home of Mozart, immerse yourself in the food scene, learn from Hohensalzburg Fortress, attend concerts, and walk around the museums. Salzburg is a UNESCO World Heritage city, and considered one of the safest cities in Europe. Austria is centrally located to the rest of Europe, making traveling during breaks easy and a great first step for your international experience.
Study at the UP Salzburg Center. You will take classes from local faculty as well as learn outside of the classroom through excursions/study tours. Past excursions included Munich, Vienna, marble quarries, and the vibrant Christmas markets of Salzburg. This program works for most majors as you will take courses to complete your Core requirements in subjects such as fine arts, history, environmental science, and more. In the Spring, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering majors will take two courses at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, and the rest of their courses at the UP Salzburg Center.
The UP Salzburg Center has shared dorms, an industrial kitchen, and a shared living space to hang out with friends, do homework, or just relax between classes. Just like on campus, there will be dedicated staff there to support you.
Our office will be with you every step of the way. While you apply to this program, you will be able to meet with our staff or one of our Student Advisors who have just returned from their own time abroad. We offer guidance and support during the application process, then we will ensure you are prepared for your trip with mandatory predeparture orientations and informational sessions and continue to work with you as you reintegrate into the UP campus life.
The cost of this program is similar to the cost of Tuition and Room + Board for a single semester on campus. Institutional aid and scholarships apply. We also have a UP Study Abroad Scholarship you can apply to!
