Study abroad in Galway this Spring semester!
Explore this cosmopolitan seaside city’s long sandy beaches, its colorful cobbled streets, wonderful shop facades, and the extensive café and bar culture. Participate in festivals and events such as the Galway International Arts Festival, the Galway Races, and Macnas Halloween Parade among others. Spend your Spring semester in this wild and bohemian city full of culture, artistry, and an exceptional food scene.
We have partnered with ILACA through Willamette University to offer this semester-long program where you will take courses from local faculty at the University of Galway (UG). UG offers a variety of courses that will complete major requirements for most majors, as well as Core requirements. You will also take a course tailored to the experience in Galway taught by a Willamette University faculty member. The program offers excursions every other weekend to locations such as Dublin, Northern Ireland, and Cork, so that the surrounding area may be your classroom too.
Live in shared apartments with other U.S. students on the program as well as Irish roommates. ILACA brings students from universities in the Pacific Northwest, so it’s likely you’ll come back with more local friends than you expect!
Our office will be with you every step of the way. While you apply to this program, you will be able to meet with our staff or one of our Student Advisors who have just returned from their own time abroad. We offer guidance and support during the application process, then we will ensure you are prepared for your trip with mandatory predeparture orientations and informational sessions, and continue to work with you as you reintegrate into the UP campus life.
The cost of this program is similar to the cost of Tuition and Room + Board for a single semester on campus. Institutional aid and scholarships apply. We also have a UP Study Abroad Scholarship you can apply to!
