Anita R. Gooding is a licensed clinical social worker who received a M.S.W. from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in women, gender & sexuality from Trinity College. She is currently completing a Ph.D. in social work and social research at Portland State University. Anita's practice experience spans across micro and macro levels of practice; it includes community outreach and organizing, development and marketing, treatment education for persons living with HIV/AIDS, outpatient therapy for LGBTQIA-identified persons and serving as a B.S.W. field director. Her research centers on the subjugated knowledges of historically marginalized groups, equity and inclusion within social work education, and sexual health. In her free time Anita enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, playing music, and sunshine.
