Col. R. Scott Grainger

Colonel Scott GraingerAir Force ROTC Commander Colonel Scott Grainger is a career civil engineer officer in the United States Air Force. He earned his B.S. in civil engineering and was commissioned through the Air Force ROTC program at the University of Portland in 1994. Over the last 26 years, Col. Grainger has served in a variety of engineering positions, base, major command, and headquarters Air Force, with multiple tours overseas. Most recently, he served as the Commander of the Air Force’s largest civil engineer unit, located at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan. He led a diverse team of 1,550 military, US and Japanese civilians enabling daily operations, contingency, and peacetime capabilities in support of humanitarian, natural disasters and Air Force deployments worldwide. Col. Grainger is a registered professional engineer in the state of California, has earned a M.S. in engineering management from the University of Missouri, Rolla, and is a graduate of the Air Command and Staff College. When not at work, he enjoys running, hiking, biking, skiing, and spending time with his family.
